How Often Should You Get a Headshot?

This is a question we hear a lot—Chances are good that if you are thinking about this question as an actor—then you are probably due for a new one. The industry standard is every 1-2 years.

If you change your look then it IS time for updated headshots. 

If you change hair color

If you get your hair cut/styled in a significantly different way.

Added or subtracted facial hair

Lose or gain a significant amount of weight

Any other significant changes in your body

Your headshot should reflect your “type” and that can change over time so make sure you have a current one.

Whether your headshot is 3 months or 3 years old ask yourself if it’s working for you—are you getting good feedback? If it is then every few years should be okay for a headshot. If your headshot isn’t working for you then maybe it’s time to begin looking at options to update them.
