Have a family you want to get photographed? Have dogs? Well we are a family & dog friendly studio! Some may not know that we have a little division of Tara Patty Photography called Springs Pet Portraits. This is where we do all things dog and owners with dogs. And yes we are all part of the same studio space.

The studio is wide open and very dog friendly—we’re even located above a dog daycare & boarding facility called BamPaws so we do have a little experience with dogs. We get calls all the time for people looking for a studio family portrait wondering if they could include a dog or two (or three like the family above). That’s just what we specialize in so bring the dogs along and we can do some with and without the dogs as you prefer.

So like our pet division we give a little advice when bringing an animal into the studio for the first time. Ideally we’d love to see you and your dog(s) ahead of time (like we do for the pet portrait sessions) but we get that that’s not always possible. So we have a few suggestions: make sure your dog is a little hungry (if treat motivated—and you can bring their favorite treats or toys as well). We do have treats here—lots of them—but some prefer their dogs own treats. Also we suggest burning off a little energy if the dog is younger or tends towards being high energy. Also make sure you walk them around outside just prior to coming in so they can feel comfortable doing their business.

That’s mostly all there is to it. Bring them on their leash and we can let them off once inside the studio to let them check out all the smells. We love working with dogs as well as people so if your thinking of including your dog in the family photo (and they ARE family, right?) then go on ahead! We’ll help make it happen.
