Video Builds Connection

Video is exploding on the internet. Within the next few years it is estimated to comprise 80% of internet search traffic. Those business websites that have videos on them will rank higher in search engine results than those that do not.

Besides upping your SEO what can video really do for your website?

Building A Personal Connection

It has been proven through a research project by Cornell University Brand Lab that eye contact can build brand connection as well as brand trust. And their study was done on breakfast cereal’s cartoon characters making eye contact with the buyer. If it can work for a two demential cartoon character on a cereal box it most likely works in spades with a person communicating through video.

According to online corporate video host Wistia “Eye contact cuts through the noise and suggests trust, friendliness and a sense of humanness.” Wistia goes one to explain that when pushed to the next realm—video—this becomes even more powerful.

Many companies use personal touch with their clients such as personal phone calls or handwritten notes. A video can go beyond this. Because of the depth of the medium you can express a full range of emotions, explain things in much great detail and emotionally connect with your audience. And best of all one video can speak to literally thousands of your customers.

A personal video on your website can help remind customers why they came to you in the first place. It’s not all about price or what features or products you have to offer. It’s about the personal connection they feel when they think of your company. And isn’t that really what your brand should be all about?

So show the human side of your business by adding video to your website.
